+Are the photos really free?
Yes. Everything is released under CC-BY 4.0. You can download and use any photo, including commercially, without paying or signing up.
+Do I need to credit the photographer?
CC-BY 4.0 requires attribution. A short line such as “Photo by Leggloom (CC-BY 4.0)” with a link back to this site is enough.
+What resolution are the downloads?
The originals are full-resolution files (typically 2752×1536 or larger) hosted on the Internet Archive. The gallery itself shows compressed WebP thumbnails for speed.
+How does the download work?
Pressing download streams the original file from the Internet Archive into your browser and saves it directly — you never leave the page. If the archive cannot be reached, the file opens in a new tab instead.
+Are these real photographs?
No. The collection is made up of synthetic, computationally generated imagery, offered under the same open license as everything else here.
+Can I redistribute them?
Yes, as long as you keep the attribution. You can bundle them into templates, articles, apps and designs. You may not claim you created them or relicense them under more restrictive terms.
+Why is the site so fast?
It is completely static — no database, no backend. Pages are pre-built and the images lazy-load as you scroll.
